All About the Trane CleanEffects™ Whole House Air Cleaner in Lenoir City, TN

Many people living in Lenoir City, TN struggle with allergies. Using an air cleaner is a good way to reduce some of the particles that come into your home to help you avoid the symptoms you usually experience. Find out how the Trane CleanEffects™ Whole House Air Cleaner works and whether it’s a good fit for your home.

How the Air Cleaner Works

Human and animal hairs are as big as 50 microns and visible to the naked eye, but many of the particles that set off your allergies are much smaller. That’s why Trane designed this air cleaner with three filters, all of which work on common allergens.

With proper care, the CleanEffects™ Whole House Air Cleaner will remove 99.98% of allergens. These include pet hair and dander as well as pollen.

Unlike other air cleaners on the market that use just one or two filters, this one has three different filters. The first acts as a pre-filter. When pollutants and allergens such as pet dander and cigarette smoke move through your vents, the air will push them through the cleaner and into the pre-filter that captures them.

The next filter charges each particle with positive and negative ions. Any of the particles that make it through this unit will then reach the third filter, which collects some of the smallest ones. This filter can capture substances and materials that are only 0.1 microns.

All filters have something called a Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value or MERV that shows how well they work at capturing small and large particles. The CleanEffects™ Whole House Air Cleaner has a higher MERV than similar filters do, which helped it earn certification from the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America. It is one of the only air cleaners for the whole home with this certification.

Delivery Rate

One reason to invest in this air cleaner is that it has a high delivery rate, which lets you know that it does a good job of cleaning and purifying the air. It refers to how much cubic feet of air passes through every minute (CFM). Most of the HEPA filters that you see have a rating of around 10 CFM or less.

Pleated filters that are larger have a rating of around 240-260 CFM. The Trane CleanEffects™ Whole House Air Cleaner reaches 1200 CFM, which makes it one of the most effective systems on the market. Other whole home cleaners have a rating as low as half this amount.

Easy Maintenance

The Trane CleanEffects™ Whole House Air Cleaner is popular with those who don’t want to do a lot of maintenance. Using the indicator lights on the cabinet helps you see when you need to clean the filter. You’ll see these lights flashing when other problems arise, too.

Though some users may need to clean the filter every three months, you might get up to nine months of use out of it. The third filter measures just one inch in size and is removable. You have the option of cleaning it with a little water, but vacuuming works just as well and ensures you have good indoor air quality.

Is There Anything Else You Need to Know?

The air cleaner is compatible with most other systems. You can have a new AC installed without worrying about making any changes to keep your home free of the common Lenoir City, TN allergens. It also works with your furnace.

Another benefit is its quiet operation, which you can enjoy due to the insulated case that blocks buzzing noises and other sounds from reaching your ears. Trane claims that with regular use, the air cleaner can reduce the amount of dusting you usually do by 50%, too.
